[Solved] Pinout for Aux Jack (2009)
I'm starting the install process for my 2009 RX-8 to put in an aftermarket nav unit. It is a 2009 Touring model with Bose, no stock nav. The head unit is the Kenwood DNX996XR. I intend to wire the stock RX-8 Aux jack into the head unit, but when I took apart center console, I was surprised to find that the aux jack had more than the usual 3 wires for a stereo aux jack, and instead has 4 (Red/Black, Green/Black, Green, Yellow/Black).
Does anyone which wires correspond to the normal 3 wires of a stereo 3.5mm cable? And are these wires available at the head unit?
Thanks!

If anyone else is interested I solved this by probing the port.
The wires are from left to right (facing back of plug)...
1-2-3-4-5-6
Ground-Right-Ground-Left-NC-NC
1 = Yellow/Red = Ground (R) = Sleeve
2 = Light Green/Black = Right Channel = Ring
3 = Light Green = Ground (L) = Sleeve
4 = Yellow/Black = Left Channel = Tip
5 = No Connection
6 = No Connection
FYI to look forward to, I'm currently installing a Kenwood Nav system in my RX-8, and I'm wiring to retain the factory Aux Jack and also use the factory Sirius Satellite Antenna. I'll have pics and a small write up when I'm done.
