NZ Power loss after Catback install

HELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!!!!

04- MANUAL- (+-) 95000KM...

After installing a CatBack System, it redlines at 7,000 - 7,500????
WHAT THE F#$@ IS HAPPENING...

what cat back did you install? did you install yourself? any lights on dash showing up?

Aftermarket - - and no lights on the dash, Professionally self installed..

After it warm up more it seems to be fine - starting to give a small backfire on shifting..

but all els it seems fine now..

Hello, could be a total coincidence. Your car could have started misfiring just as you were installing your pipe.
I assume you mean the rpms top out at 7k, not redline. I would suggest getting your codes scanned and check if ignition is in good shape.
I believe it is possible for misfires to occur without the CEL coming on.

Hi, solved problem.. Cat-converter was the culprit.. All fixed now...

Did not take a year.. Only remembered now that I asked the question... And by self Professionally install I meant That it was not a redneck-glue and tape job... And yes, I have been doing a lot of self professional jobs for my self and mates... Car PC/ catalytic converter removal/ battery relocation/ oil catch/ lowering springs/ compleat stage 1 upgrade.. But thanks for the feedback...

I just have a quick question, wanna try to clarify something. Are you a certified mechanic at all or is your job in a shop doing work like this? Just curious.

Hi WaCoNZ, I for one appreciate the update, even after a year.
It bugs me when people ask for help when they have a problem & then don't follow up with the solution.
