200whp is achievable bone stock. If you aren't there, something isn't healthy and you have some stuff to fix on your car.

You can also check Racing Beat and Mazdatrix for available performance products for your car.

What RiWWP said, first get all the little ponies that are supposed to be there.

My favorite is a light flywheel. It does not add power, but it reduces what gets sucked away every time the RPM tries to rise.

Go with a street version though, a track or pro one will generate a bit of noise.

Can always start with an AEM CAI

AEM Dry flow Cold Air Intake System

Adding a Cat-back exhaust will also help with performance gains, but also makes the 8 sound awesome!

Cat-Back Systems

Lots of other places to go from there, but these would be the 2 basic starter pieces.

Use our promo code: RX8 for AEM and HKS products to receive rx8club.com member pricing.

Reality on any NA build without spending crazy amounts of $$ unfortunately. Just giving some basic mod suggests that do work better once paired with other components and tuned.

Our mind set is to usually focus on suspension and braking, since it is hard to make large amounts of power.

hmm...

You guys sure are proud of the TXS...

Turbo XS Exhaust - Total Automotive Performance - Your Source for Auto Parts and Accessories - $784 ?!?!?

OP, you can pick it up directly from here: https://www.rx8club.com/vendor-class...ing%2A-256643/ for almost $300 less.

And if the note is too loud mate it with a nice BHR mid pipe: Black Halo Racing Resonated Midpipe | Black Halo Racing

You simply can't go wrong with the TXS + BHR combo and you'll get a true 3" exhaust.

You are right.... Nice Call! Thanks! This is a great brand and are working with TurboXS to update our price file. Will update this asap. Thanks!!!

UPDATE: Just talked to RAJ @ TurboXS the pricing for listed in the links below WAS a BLACK Friday special... Obviously, it's NOT black friday. Lol Raj @ TurboXS requested the pricing to be removed from the forum link and back at Dealer pricing will be updated on their site as well.

Good News!! TurboXS is ready to ship and will drop ship from TurboXS direct

BS dude... TXS has been running that deal for the better part of 3 years! Black Friday was well before their last update. They have ALWAYS sold their mid pipe/catback combo here for that price.... and if they change it now shame on you!

Well, not to rattle the cage anymore, I spoke with Raj and the price will stay. We hope that we will one day be able to be competitive with their products.

Any questions, feel free to contact us.

BTW, what other products would you like us to look into?

It was an HONEST mistake, Our price file IS correct as we had DEALER price file. After talking with TurboXS there is NO control on their pricing, they sell direct to customers on forums which is great! They add value to the products. It's hard to push a product if pricing is all over the place. What BS claims are your referring to? We are here to help promote and add value to products. If a customer wants an item we will do our best to get the forum pricing. If we can't i.e. TurboXS product we will certainly step back and let it be. I called Raj direct and he said that the pricing is OLD and should of been deleted. So if they are selling direct here on the forum what support are they giving their dealers who want to push their products? If you have any other questions about our posts please call us direct 702-979-1577, PM, or email info@totalautoparts.net We certainly want to earn your business and earn respect here on the forum.

So are you saying that NO Performance gains are made with ANY exhaust? You also forgot to highlight "but also makes the 8 sound awesome!"

According to Racing Beat...

Based upon our initial test sessions, it appeared that the Mazda engineers did not leave much "untapped" horsepower behind in the stock exhaust system. Although it appears there might be modest power gains available from a "cat-back" exhaust system, be wary of big horsepower claims from any aftermarket exhaust system.
Our testing has provided the following results:
Stock production engine - with muffler removed +5 HP
Stock production engine - with RB muffler + 3.5 HP
Stock production engine - with aftermarket system "A" muffler + 3.5 HP
Stock production engine - with aftermarket system "B" muffler + -1.5 HP

We all agree Mazda engineers have done their job to make these RX8's awesome right out of the box. If it's 1hp, 3.5HP claimed by Racing Beat then YES it's something gained, Is it worth the Price??? Answer is subjective to ALL... Is it the SOUND that we ALL Want?? YES!!!

NA cars with the RB flash have been known to lose power...

Just one example. A catback alone will net you ZERO. It is still restricted by the amount of airflow that can get to it from stock midpipe and cat.
