Puked oil over 6K rpms all of a sudden not at all?
Hi guys, proud new owner of an 04 rx8
So here's the dilemma, ive had this since november of 2022 and shes been kind of a puker since i got her, ive gutted the cat, replaced plugs, wires, and coils, and installed a catch can. She would easily get the can half full within a couple weeks. If I revved her above 6K at all she'd instantly fill it and flood the system with oil. Almost a week ago I had to replace the lower throttle cooling line, while I was there I shot a little wd40 in the UIM to clean it a little, as well as the LIM, well since then ive revved her a couple times to 6500 on purpose and 7K by accident. I checked my can today and it was dry, not even a drop. Could the excess blowby have been a partially stuck apex seal?
I've already searched plenty of the forums and found nothing similar to this. Just curious as to what could've causes such a drastic change. As of right now no major complaints, just happy shes still kicking 😁. If anyone has any insight on this it'd be much appreciated!

Apex seals don't blow by into the oil pan, they leak between chambers. It's the side seals that would cause blow by and oil puking. A bit of WD40 shouldn't really have any effect that engine heat and oil injection wouldn't, but I wonder if you manipulating the throttle did something. When you replaced the coolant line did you remove the throttle body or disturb any other component? Super silly but is the oil dipstick in all the way or venting pressure?
