TX Rays TE37 Wheels on a RX-8?

So I was looking for some Rays TE37 wheels, unfortunately, they are not compatible with the factory spec tires. Here's the link to them:

VOLK1524 Volk Wheels - Te37 at Andy's Auto Sport

I was told by them that I needed the following mods in order for them to be compatible:

Offset +48
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3

What do these mods mean, how do modify the wheels in order to have the above?

Those are some of the most common wheels for the Rx-8.

Stock offset is +50, which is probably why they said you need +48, but I've seen many people have +38 or even +30 without rubbing issues.

You might be able to find a used set for sale on here. They pop up sometimes, and at $820/rim from AAS I would pass on them.

What is compatible depends on many things suchs as ride height, future plans, tire you plan to run, etc. I suggest reading up and figuring out what you are going for before you make such a large purchase. TE37's look awesome on the RX-8. Maybe post up a pic of an RX-8 with TE's that you like and I can give you an idea on the specs and what is needed to achieve that look.

I used Gran Turismo 6 as my virtual tuning platform for my 8. I lowered the car a little bit, stiffened up the suspension, and of course put some TE37's on it. This could possibly be my future build for it, I want it to look something like this...

Maybe from that angle it doesn't look as cool, but I personally tailored the wing for this car. The measurements were specific to this car. I got my inspiration from the RE Amemiya GT wing.

You know what, I agree. I don't know what I was thinking, as for the TE37 wheels I changed my mind. I like the look of the Mazdaspeed MS-01S wheels (Also forged by Rays, approximate look pictured above) better. I can also avoid unnecessary mods to the suspension since the MS-01's have similar measurements to the OEMs.

Sometime in the future I'll do it, I heard they're hard to find.

I'll leave THIS here, it looks nice but I like the look of this one better with the Rays MS-01S.

IIRC those wheels were $7,000.00, made of magnesium.

Well, I've seen prices online ranging from $2500-$5000 depending on their condition. And yes, they are forged out of magnesium making them much lighter than the OEM wheels (16 lbs. for the MS-01S's compared to 21 lbs. for the OEM's).
