Rebuilding engine question

hey all, going to be rebuilding my engine and was wondering if there are parts that are reusable. Trying to keep the cost as low as possible because i do plan on swapping in a 13b-rew in a year or two. Yes i know all the maintenance needed with these rotaries and what not. Long story short, i got my 8 with the engine out and have no clue as to if the engine runs or not. Therefore, I'm just trying to take a precaution by doing what i can while the engine is out.

No I've never rebuilt a rotary before but there's no way of learning by not doing it myself. Plus what better feeling is there than knowing you did the work yourself?

thank you for any help

OP,

There is good info throughout the forum for this. In all honesty none of it will matter until you tear the engine down and see what's what. Depending upon engine, housings, irons, rotors and a bit more is reusable again it varies engine to engine.

It's in your wallet's best interest to do the swap now (assuming you're actually going to do the swap).

Post pics of parts and ill give you my best guess. Defiantly get a gasket/ oring set and all new side, and apex seals It really takes a few precision instruments to test irons and eshaft.

Where are you located?

i havent taken it apart just yet, but will be doing so hopefully within the next week. just need to wait on my atkins engine stand adaptor.

i would do the swap now, but dont have the funds at the moment. Thus for rebuilding the renesis until the funds are available.

i guess ill have to do some more searching around to see whats good and whats not.

im located in upstate NY
