Recaro Seat Trim Pieces

Recaro Seat Trim Pieces
I am missing the front and back trim pieces on the front and back upper on both Recaro seats on my 2009 R3.
I've seen some posts that they do not hold up well and fall out, but all eight pieces are absent.
For those that have them or know about the issue, it is possible the prior owner removed them for comfort? For me, it appears my shoulders would be lining up right on top of them. I thought perhaps they were removed if they created some discomfort.
Or is it more likely they failed and were not replaced?
They are surprisingly available from Mazda. They are not inexpensive, but well within the bounds of a justified cost. I thought I might pick the set of 8 pieces up whether I immediately reinstall them or not as I expect they shall become unobtanium at some point.

They are sunk in enough you don't feel them. Mine are all broken as well.
I tried drilling a hole in the top and bottom and using black plastic push pins to hold them together. It works but not well so I'm trying to think of some other way to make them look good without having to spend hundreds to replace them.
