Remove these scratches from the rear console?

Well, I did end up buying my black 2010 RX8! I really love her. So much more than the Eclipse I had. So much so that I cleaned the garage out so I can keep her safe.

You all probably think I'm crazy but can these scratches be removed? I found a website that sells a replacement rear center console or parts of it. The entire rear center console is around $300.

The entire thing isn't ruined but obviously the previous owner was an idiot when it came to plastic in his/her car. I would have never put these scratches in the cars interior plastics.

I'd love to restore these parts so they don't look like garbage.

I did use Mister Clean Magic Eraser on the steering wheel and that came out amazing.

This car was obviously owned by a woman. Return it as soon as possible

It has 22k miles on it and the exterior is in near perfect condition. The only real issues are the plastic in the rear console. The front console isn't nearly as bad.

I'm not returning a CAR for something like this. That's not a reason to return a purchase like this. I'd rather pay $600 for the dealer to replace the center console if this can't be fixed with any method or product.

Sorry to say but I don't think that's coming out, try the for sale thread for anyone parting out there car, or if your good or know someone that can paint, take it apart it's not too hard pain in the *** but not hard and have them paint the pieces for you. Mine didn't have all the scratches on it but I got tired of the look and went white with all my trim and it came out great. Just don't pop them off and rattle can them though. A good paint job is all in the prep work. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks, I don't want paint on plastic though. I guess I'll have to take her to the dealership and ask them for a quote to replace the plastic. They may be able to order individual parts and just replace the offending components. I know the *entire* rear console costs around $300. The entire thing doesn't need to be replaced though. Some of the components are relatively inexpensive. It doesn't hurt to see the dealer and ask. I know that silver trim is pretty inexpensive looking at the parts online.

I took that into consideration and actually found a company in Jacksonville, FL that does stuff like this! I've looked through their website and they've fixed things a LOT worse than the scratching in my car.

Fibrenew - The Experts in Leather Repair, Vinyl and Plastic Restoration

Some of the things they've fixed is amazing. I'm going to get a quote from them and I'll let you all know how it turns out. :-D

This is beyond normal wear and tear. My goodness.
Did the previous owner have claws?

You can sand and repaint the silver side trim in photo 1.

Not much you can do with for photos 2 and 3.

Or you might want to experiment with trim stickers.

Personally, I'd have discounted price to replace applicable center console elements.

If that were my car, I'd replace it right away, as I don't like to spend days, weeks or months dealing with an annoying thing like that. Order the part and replace yourself, or if you're not handy or don't have the time, let the dealer do it. If the rest of the car is as nice as you say, you'll be quite happy when you see your new, scratch-free rear console!
