Each to his own I suppose. Maybe your car is different than mine. If you find it easier then go for it for sure, but I have issues getting down in there for obvious reasons. Theres this huge mess of pipes I'd have to remove to get to them.

Why does mine seem more open. I don't have the Ac connected so maybe that helps me.

I filled up the gas tank today, and as I was checking the oil, I thought of this thread. I feel like this area of the car based on your pictures is drastically different than my car. I have a maze/plethora of hoses in the way. There is no way in hell I would want to move all of that to change spark plugs. Weird it seems so different.

Do you have an RX-8 and is it a Series I (2003-2008) or Series II (2009-2012)? Those pictures are from a Series I engine bay.

Same as mine. Also a S1. I feel like I have spare room for my arm while reaching down. Also I'm one of the few that have no problem taking UIM off. I even changed my clutch slave cylinder all from above.

Mine also a 2004 6 speed. Is yours automatic?

No it's a 6 speed as well.
