REW swapping my 8
Hey there, I have just joined as I realize this is a pretty specific problem and needs kinda specific help.
I recently purchased an REW short block from Australia and plan on swapping it into my Rx8, Now it is coming with full intake and exhaust systems (at least to the Cat) but I don't have any of the other accessories ready. could I use some of the same accessories from my renesis engine (spark plugs, injectors, ignition coils, alternator, water pump, all that jazz)?

Yes I am sadly the smog laws forbid me from doing so but this is a Time Attack and Autocross car so its not a huge deal. My main issue is ive peaked at power and the class im in goes up to 300hp but there is no way i can get a Renesis up to that level without some serious turbo or something.

Upgraded Greddy turbo kits achieve almost 300 on their own and considering the relatively poor design of them, getting 300 out of a renesis with a custom-made solution isn't much of a challenge as far as I'm aware. Certainly not worth doing a full REW swap over. A turbo with an appropriate hot side and a tune on the renny would have you sorted. You'd be able to re-use almost all of your accessories that way too.
They do lack the tasty REW sound though.
There are a few REW build guides around here, you could try flicking through those. They usually have a parts list that documents what they had to purchase to make it work.

Recommend you read through all the REW Swap threads. Starting with the more recent ones. Tons of info in them, and they will answer questions you don't have yet, along with what you're looking after.
Its not a cut and dry swap, so be prepared to make choices on your own. You will not be able to just "swap" the REW in because it's a 13b. Or just get a list of parts to buy and slap on the motor. A lot more is involved.

I'm turbocharged and heavily modified, and I can tell you that a swap would put you into territory that wouldn't be fun to compete in. I'm not even swapped, I'm using Renesis... and between my various mods, I'm competing in a car class with AWD cars with more than 300whp. Most of what I'm going up against are Evo8/9's, STI's, all with some quality rubber and great mods putting them at a power advantage and the AWD drivetrain traction advantage.
Swapping to REW might not be the best solution/route.
