Hi all! Brand new to the club. I very recently bought an 04 Winning Blue. Everything about it is in check. Compression, tires, coils, plugs, everything... except for the rust.
The rust is only located around the rear fenders(? I realize that It's like, the whole under and over body of the car, so not sure if fender is the proper way to put it)
so I was wondering what people on here have done about there rust problems, particularily on this section of the car.
Bring into a repair/restoration shop? Ship out a replacement part? Try the classic Bondo technique?
Love the car and how it drives, and I dont mind putting work into it if needed (Which I'm sure it's gonna need it)
I bought the car knowing this was it's only major fault, and with some love and care (And probably a good chunk of change) it could be dealt with.
You're talking serious cutting and welding, easily thousands of dollars if you take it somewhere and paint it. On top of that rust all RX-8s I've seen develop rust in the trunk lid, sunroof, and front doors as well.
