Do you mean to tell me that the torque specs are not just suggestions?

I don't know what the official word is but I F****ing hate the types of bolts that are used on every car I've ever owned. There are kits of stainless steel bolt and nuts for the Jeeps that actually go off road.

I live in the worst place on earth for cars. They pour mountains of salt everyime there is a hint it will snow and cars that venture out any time during winter are "DOOMED"

I've been working on my 04. I was pretty lucky only 3 bolts broke off. One I'm just going to need someone with a lift and a better torch to weld a nut on. In the meantime There are three other bolts holding it together. So everything I can easilt unscrew is being "upgraded" I bought bags of stainless metric parts but I ran out and I've reached the stage where I just want to see if I've fixed it or totally screwed it up. *Bad Oil Lines and an Oilpan that was rusty and not bolted down properly?!? Who does that? Well anyway I put all the essential parts in and put a quart of oil and a bottle of antifreeze in her so tomorrow morning I can look for any obvious leaks which will then cause me to throw myself under a bus. SIGH. This is a great car but I'm so out of practice its eating away at me. So the quart of oil I tried to get in the car glugged over the sides pretty good until I jammed it in. Then I stood around fiddling with the antifreeze and decided to look and OH CRAP oil dripping out! If I had hair I would have ripped it out. Then I remembered some idiot (Me) dumped a bunch all over the engine SIGH...

Well wish me lots of luck. I need it. Tomorrow I will put in the rest of the oil and crank on it for 10 seconds with the crank sensor unplugged. Then top off the oil and I'll see if this bird flies or lays an egg.
