RX8 Handling issue
#26
Don't most alignment shops have the factory settings for every vehicle? I did the alignment on my 3 and the guy working there just selected the car's make, model and year on the alignment computer and the stock alignment showed up.
I don't have the stock alignment settings for the RX-8. Maybe another member can help you. I seem to be suffering from the same issue as you are. The steering wheel tugs from side to side when going over bumps, specially when reversing over bumps. No idea why.

Well, i aligned my car according to the specs in the picture shown above in this thread by " Live Wire".
This setting helped a bit but still there is a little wobbly steering feeling over bumps. wobbly in a sense that steering moves itself right or left in bumps. I checked out all the upper and lower arm bushes, shocks and steering ends but all perfect there. Still in a hunt to fix this

Sorry for bumping an old thread. What were the alignment settings? A friend of mine is experiencing a similar issue. We did an alignment according to the factory specs and it didn't fix it.
Did your steering wheel have a little play in the center?

Well, my problem came back few days after alignment. In my case, it was steering rack. Replaced it a while back and things are good now and YES i had some play in the center
