Rx8 no start
Hi I’m new to the forum I have a m/t 04 rx8 with junkyard engine with good compression. That being said it has immobilizer codes u0167 and u0155 car used to start up fine when I put in the engine but wouldn’t rev past 3k rpm and if I tried to it would die and flood. Did the brake stomp changed o2 sensor, plugs, wires and coils and water temp sensor. After replacing parts it won’t start anymore and the immobilizer codes showed up car cranks but won’t start. It’s currently at a rotary shop but it has now been 2 months and the person shows no sign of even trying to work on my car so I might be picking it up soon from there to take else we’re or try fix myself (if you have any shop recommendations in the Houston area it would be greatly appreciated)

Not sure this is my first rx8 and I did find it weird that the car will crank but was told that the immobilizer could be the cause for no start. I figured maybe it’s loosing communication for a sec or so, throwing off ignition

What exactly is the code its throwing? Have you confirmed it's not just flooded?
How good is the compression in the junkyard engine?
Not revving past 3k is 99% of the time a problem with the OMP, it's pretty easy to mess up its position when installing. But, it's often also an easy fix, just reinstall it properly.
Other common mistakes when installing engines: reversing the injectors (primaries connected to secondary wires, and vice versa), leaving vacuum leaks, not letting the car learn to idle properly.
