Rx8 yaw sensor question..

Anyone know whats involved with recalibrating a yaw sensor? Mine needs replacing and i have got my hands on a used one, just wondering whats involved with recalibrating it before i call a Mazda dealership. If anyone knows that would be great then.

I don't know and couldn't find it in the Service manual. How did you know it was not working - what tests did you run?

I had it diagnostic scanned and thats what came up, its not the abs or wheel sensors. The light with the little car skidding is illuminated. From everything i read and discussed with Mazda its that sensor..

Did the battery ever discharge completely or was it disconnected and reconnected at any time prior to the light turning on?

Start the car. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right, and then back to the left and then center. Turn off the car. Remove the key and then restart again. Sensor should reset and light should turn off.

it is called the “combined sensor” because it measures both G-loads and Yaw rate

this is from my 2005 service manual, it implies the use of dealership type service equipment

which the same equipment is required to properly diagnose if it’s functioning properly rather than make assumptions and guesses
