S2 with aftermarket intake, how to revert to stock

HI guys,

Newbie question, I'm looking to purchase a 2010 rx8 with a K&N intake on it. The car is too loud for me above 5k so I'm interested in going stock

Would the S1 series parts match up to the S2? I am only able to find S1's near me being parted out. Also the battery box is missing the tie down and it's also missing the engine cover.

I believe that I read that all these are important. Any and all advice is welcome

Thank you in advance and for reading this far.

Yes, you can swap back to stock easily and most of the parts are interchangeable with the S1 RX-8.

just get some ricer to trade you.

Thank you for the advice. And I hope the Rx 8 isn't popular with the renegade crowd. I was in contact with the owner recently and he mentioned that he should have all the parts. Thank goodness.

It's like people purposely ignore this list or just wanna kill Rx8's

They just can't resist the power of the Rice mods.

Well, there are two aftermarket intakes that actually work from what I have searched here: AEM/Mazdaspeed intake and Racing Beat REVi. The others are not worth it.

I see. That's a good point. Unfortunately I have neither on this car. The stock intake is very good, and I'm actually worried that the aftermarket one is actually harming fuel delivery. But besides all that, it's super loud.

The only thing the AEM and RB work to do on a stock RX-8 is make more noise.

Yeah, the gains are very minimal.

I am sticking with my stock one.

Minimal is being optimistic.
