From San Antonio, Thank you rx8club.com!
I'd like to thank everyone for their contributions to this site. The wealth of knowledge continually shared throughout the forums is absolutely priceless!
3 months ago I finally decided I would go FI and bought a used Greddy turbo kit for my 04 with Mazda reman w/ 7k miles. Currently I am waiting for the turbo upgrade from BNR, CAI from rx8performance, midpipe from BHR, JDM 5-speed from ebay, and the lotek gauge pod. There are many other parts I need to upgrade (cooling especially) and will be making purchases soon. However, I lack the tools and mechanical expertise to do this install so I am looking for a rotary specialist in the San Antonio area.
That being said, there really isn't any shop around here that I trust to do the work. So to those who are in the area (9k that's you) lol I wanted to get your opinion (if any) on Rotary Performance in Garland. Ive read what's on their website and they seem like pros, but Garland is one hell of a drive from here to do an install.
Again, Thank you everyone for the valuable information you shared!

If you can't do the install, then I can presume that you won't be able to troubleshoot any likely issues.
My advice is to learn all you can before going down this road. You may think everything is fine. But if there's a failure at any point, and you can't troubleshoot it properly, then bye bye engine...
Otherwise, I would get friendly with the SARX crew, pick their brains and learn from them. Only THEN, should you attempt this.
Good luck

Thanks for the advice, it makes sense and is right in every way. I'd love to be able to do these things myself and feel quite motivated to learn more.
Will be doing more research on setting up shop in the garage, proper tools and equipment. I'll start by convincing my wife that this is a necessary investment and should prove rewarding in the end.
Wish me luck!

You should have asked locally, a buddy is selling a Greddy kit with a coated manifold and downpipe and a BNR 60-1, never installed. But if you have questions and are on FB, join the SARX FB page.

Yeah I should have joined this forum years ago when I bought the car. Definitely would've jumped on that kit had I paid attention and done things the smart way. Haven't used Facebook in years but I'll see what's up!
