Well, the good news is that I am quite sure if I screw up and put something in the wrong place someone will correct me!

And now I can refer back to this

I'm with Loki. What is your question?

Deep breath. Type it out. Read it out loud, as if you were being asked the question yourself. And if it makes sense, then press the 'post' button.

Also, read the new and potential owners sticky found at the top of the new members forum. That, and the other stickies, will likely answer many of your questions regarding the rx8.

There are some major changes, and many minor changes between s1 and s2.

As I mentioned, read the stickies in the new members forum. I will even link one for you, that pertains directly to your question.

I had been reading them; however, I had not made it that far down yet. I am sure I will get to it soon. Thanks for the link, it is very much appreciated. No I am not meaning to be a redundant noob, mainly because all that does is **** people off.

Imagine for a moment, the day the Series II was announced. Imagine the flurry of activity on this forum, where this thread was posted a bazillion times: "What is the difference between the new S2 and the old S1?!?!" Imagine all the discussion and speculation that took place.

Yep. That is a really basic question, and all of the information is already here, waiting for your searching fingers. Less than 5 seconds with Google produced this thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-ii-te...s-i-ii-161665/

It's not that this community doesn't like noobs. It's that we get tired of answering the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Search hint: Use Google or Bing and structure your search like this:

site:rx8club.com search terms

Replace the words "search terms" with whatever you are searching for. A search that would find everything you need would look like this:

site:rx8club.com s1 s2 difference

Cheers!

That was awesome! Roflol. I liked that. You are dead on for what every single forum goes through. Thus we really shouldn't get so upset, but hey. Yes it was perhaps a poorly timed and placed question but the community is for helping those that are new and is to be friendly with a bit of smartassitude. well done, I like it.

I approve of this message.

Oil, you mean these cars use oil? I've just been using topping it up from my deep fryer. Love that fried chicken RX8 smell!

So what oil do you use? I just had to ask. It is like a disease or something now.

Perhaps there should be a sticky in the new member forum that has a list of all the redundant questions on it. It could be labeled Questions you dare never ask again or something that will catch people eye. But best to have it close to the top as most people read left to right and top to bottom.
In the description one could say something like all of these questions have been asked already and are searchable using the bolded word in each question.
Would be sooo helpful for the new person and the people that have been here since birth.

Just a thought. Now watch I will search the idea and find it………. Nope, god idea then.

Wellll.....

My favorite reply is whale oil.

So that might be a hint.

But, really, I use Mobil1 0W40, but regular 3k changes are more important than type.

Or, you could read the sticky "new and potential owners start here", and scroll down to the "what oil to use" (or even click the convenient hyperlink in the very first post of that thread) and read all about it.

Or you can click on the "dumb queations" sticky and ask there.

Or you can click on the "best way to search the club" sticky.

All of those are conveniently stickied in the new members forum for people who are likely to ask redundant questions.

What a thought.

@bigcajun That was super! I was thinking rendering down some seal blubber myself. Only decent thing for the car, fires, and cooking of all sorts. Love that post.

@rx8 soldier you could get a sense of humor and let it slide. Glad to know there is a pole in you keeping you so ridged. I asked a question, I realize for you it is a noob kind of thing, I owned up to it, and now I am making light of the situation and fun. smile a bit or please just don't make a comment at all because at this point you are only being combative for no good reason.

to everyone else, if I am the one being rude, forgive me.
