Series II Experts Please Help
Hello Guys,
Nissan guy with Series II complex question, hope to get feedback from Series II oil circuit experts:
Son's 2009 Series II RX-8 threw an oil indicator light. He has been monitoring oil consumption since purchase (roughly 8 weeks or so) and was noticing the level decrease every check-up (normal). He had purchased extra oil in the event of an emergency. Otherwise, car was running like new although it has 96k miles. The oil light came up and he shut it down and topped it off. Ever since the top-off the car is smoking like crazy and the oil light is flashing. The car runs fine but there is an obnoxious amount of smoke from the exhaust (looks whiteish but it's not coolant). Anyhow, check codes and it fried the O2 sensors for sure plus the fill-up probably clocked up a lot of valves because I have codes for SSV, Air and Purge solenoids). Won't stop smoking.
Measured the oil pressure data at the PCM and it's making proper pressure (thought it could be faulty pressure sensor at OMP thus causing over oiling).
Cleaned up the solenoids and valves and no cigar, still smoking.
I've read the entire FSM and I can't find how to proceed with the blinking light because I'm not seeing any OMP fault codes.
What bothers me is that the oil light is still blinking and I'm uncomfortable going forwards without understanding why this would be the case. I need some guidance as to how to proceed. I'm lost.
Thanks.
