When i had my 1990 RX-7 GXL it had a stock shifter or low shifter however you want to call it. but it wasnt a short throw...When i replaced it eventualy with a Mazdatrix Short shifter i instantly felt the difference and the throws were way shorter but it felt like my shifts became like i was playing a video game...it didnt give me the feel that im going in gear and instead felt like i just click through gears...which was the whole downside and it was rattling a bit when im driving.

Now with the RX8 ... the stock shifter throws are short already...so is it worth it still to get a short throw? Also How does it feel and what are the drawbacks?

 

the AFE short shifter is one of THE best mods you can make on the RX8. Yes, our car already has a shorter throw than most cars in it's class but the AFE cleans up the feel quite a bit and really does give it a bolt action rifle feel.
No drawbacks.
