Should I buy or not?
I really, I mean really love the Mazda rx-8. But, so many people have said that "there are engine issues, oil consumer" and other things like that. I am more than willing to learn how to handle this beast, and I just need help deciding wether to or not.
P.S. Any and all help is welcome and appreciated
P.P.S This would be my first car

I would not suggest this as a first car unless you have grown up around mechanics.
1st cars usually get beat and destroyed. We try to keep that from happening. If your still thinking about it or have purchased one. Well then read the threads in the links within my SIG.

Depends on what are your deciding factors.
In all honesty, RX8 has been by far the most reliable car i've ever owned yet, bigger gas guzzler than all my v6
It's an amazing car, and it demands attention, you look after her and she will treat you right.
make sure you read through the stickies, research as much as you can before buying one.
All the best

The oil part is designed in. Just the way it works. Like when you buy a diesel and find out you have to pour stuff in a tank that gets burned.
For the rest of it. I found out the hard way that an Escape V6 (that engine is freaking in everything) coil going bad will fry the ECU. There are lots of problems with lots of cars. My camaro blew fuses and fuel pumps because random wires were not run in wiring looms and would short out going over bumps.
Like any car, you get a bad one, it sucks. A good one will last and last. Mine has 140,000 miles on it. Yeah, I broke some stuff, but what failed can be pretty much traced to things I or someone else did, mostly at a race track.
Read up, make sure you get a good one, save a pot of gold for maintenance like you would have to do with any used car, and change the ignition as soon as you get it.

Have you looked into the Series 2 yet? I was in the same position as you, and never even thought about looking at a Series 2 RX-8... I ended up buying a 2009 R3... To be honest, it couldn't have worked out any better!
Mazda added 425+ parts from the S1 to S2... Which included the center fuel injector. For some reason, Mazda took this out for the S1 RX-8. (If I remember correctly, Mazda had the center injector on their RX-7's).
Oh yeah, and don't get an Automatic Transmission!
