Should I replace the plugs, coils and wires?
I bought my RX-8 a few days ago with 60,100 miles. The plugs, coils and wires were replaced in June, 2016 at 58,000 miles.
The car starts and runs fine, but I'm a bit concerned about it hardly being used for 3 years and am a total idiot when it comes to maintenance so would appreciate some advice.
Should I replace the plugs, coils and wires or is that a waste?

Plugs/coils/wires don't wear quickly due to time like engine oil does. It's mostly heat or heating/cooling cycles that does coils and wires in.
If you're concerned, purchase an HEI coil tester ($20 on Amazon) and test the coils. If you get a good strong spark the coils are fine.
If the jackets on the plug wires is fine, you can leave those, too. One way to test plug wires is to get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Spray down the plug wires really well while the engine is running. If the engine bogs, changes note, dies, you see electrical arcing or anything else odd happens, replace the plug wires.
Reading plugs is more of an art. Pull them and post the photos here and I'm sure somebody will chime in and help you read them.
