EU Small body damage but motor doesn't start

Hello! i need a project car and i am planning to buy an 8.
This one: https://www.avk.fi/en/vehicle-sales/...793/mazda-rx-8

it's a 2004, 80k km (50k miles)
but there just one thing.. it says the car don't start(NO APPARENT REASON). from what i know it's just been in a tiny crash and i wonder if you guy's here on RX8club have some ide of what the problem might be? small ignition problem i could fix but if it's some compression issue i'll probably not handle it.

I wouldn't touch it at all. That asking price looks like it converts to around $9,300 ish USD, which is high for a 2004 in PERFECT condition and relatively low miles. Market conditions may be different over there, but that still seems absurdly high for a wrecked car. I'd expect 1,000-1,200 Euro would be fair.

Lots of possible reasons for not starting, some minor, some major. Without getting there with some tools, it's not going to be easy to determine. Likely option is flooding from being moved around junkyards.

thanks for so quick answer. car prices in finland are bullshit. A good rx8 with low miles goes for 12,000€ (15,000 usd? :D) Myydään Mazda RX-8 - Nettiauto
so buying that one for €5,000 instead of a good one for €12,000 i find awesome, if it wasn't for the engine problem but i guess i'll just have to take shot at it. i am going to call dealer tomorrow and see if he knows something about.
We often import cars but then theres tax and shipping so price ends being the same.

just for fun :D lada's cost that in finland 1,000-,1,200€ so I do not want to know what a crashed 8 looks for that money.

Ah, yeah, Finland's markup is significant.

Honestly, from seeing other Finnish members here over the years, and what they have to deal with up there in regards to obtaining parts, support, etc... I'd recommend against an RX-8 for you.

Get a compression test. If it shows good compression and you have decent mechanical aptitude you should be able to get it running. It likely is flooded like mentioned above.

I recall other Finnish owners have a very difficult time getting compression tests. Like only 1 dealer in the country has the tester?
