Starting problem! New rx8 owner
Hi everyone, I have a 2005 Rx8 4 speed automatic. Everytime I turn off my engine and then start it again a few minutes later(examplle: filling up on gas) the engine is hard to start. The rpm rises then drops a few times and eventually starts after maybe 10 seconds. If I wait atleast 30 minutes there's no problem starting the engine. I'm not sure if it is related but i noticed this problem after the engine flooded about 2 months ago. The car drives well except at idle it shakes a little when I'm in drive at a red light. Sorry I'm very noobie I would like to learn more about the rx8 and any help and tips are very appreciated.

start by reading the new owners thread about 12 times and then read it again NO really, Read this!
problems starting when hot and low engine compression go hand in hand. how many miles are on the car/engine?
also just an fyi when you make a help me thread give as much info on the car as you can

Not starting while hot and compression go hand in hand 99.9% of the time. cooling down for 30mins is long enough for it to 'gain' some compression back to start
this is why I told you it's good practice to list everything you can about the car. when were the ignition components last changed? are you catless? upgraded starter? old battery? etc.
if you don't feel like throwing a ton of money at the car start with a rotary engine specific compression check ~100$ at a dealer
also read the new owners thread and all of the other sticky's here in the newbie section.
