Stereo problems due to a sun visor problem

Hey everyone I recently got my 2004 Rx8 Grand Touring and since it is used I have had to fix a couple things (clutch hose, coolant reservoir, etc..) but recently I have been having a couple of problems with it because it doesn't fire up right away, I know it's not normal but I've been trying to do research because everyone says something different. Well today I was driving and I decided to have a little fun and punch it at least through the first 2 gears (I did not redline but I was at least at 8500rpm) and my sun visor, which had been broken and held by the clip for a while, fell and I pulled the wires off while driving and all of a sudden it kind of just shut down. My engine was running and everything was fine but my stereo turned off and the display wouldn't show up and to top it off the dreaded CHECK ENGINE light came on. The car has been starting fine but when I turn it off the gauges stay all the way up, when before they would go down and when I turn it on they all move back and forward twice before starting.. I was thinking it might just be a fuse but the check engine light kind of scared me. Also I tried to plug the sun visor in to see if it worked again and nothing changed. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Look at the fuse box inside the car by the drivers door. there is a fuse 10 amp its blown cuz when you pulled the wires off they may have come in contact and caused a short.

Make sure your car is off key out of ignition, check the fuses and replace the ones that are gone bad.. I had this scenario i had to replace one 10 amp and a 15 amp and everything was back to normal.

I am not sure about the check engine light as mine was already on due to missing CAT when my visor broke.

But this will definitely fix your stereo, display, and dancing needles. I am hoping it will also fix the check engine light.
