Stock Oil Pressure gauge reliable?
(Sorry, I'm not goot at English)
Hi Guys. I have 04 RX-8 automatic.
I have a question for Stock Oil Pressure Gauge.
Needle is always on Middle. Just little more "High" level (Actually, 2 point and half)
I know this needle position is normal and fine.
But, I really want to know is Accurate Pressure Number (As You know, Needle doesn't show number)
How can I get Oil Pressure Number(Figure) ???
I have OBD-2 Bluetooth Scanner(PLX KiWi2 Bluetooth) and Torque Pro APP.
But, "Torque Pro APP" doesn't show "Oil Pressure Gauge" :-(
I'm worry about Stock Oil Pressure Gauge's reliablity.
If Stock Gauge faulty, It means damage to APEX Seal (Because, can't Lubricate)
Anyone know HOW can figure out Current Oil Pressure Number and Recommanded Number?

There is no oil pressure sensor in the car.
The gauge will point left if the engine is off, up if the engine is on, and right if there is a specific diagnostics procedure currently being run.
If you want an oil pressure number, you have to install an oil pressure sender and a gauge to show it.
Low oil pressure will not hurt the apex seals, since they are lubrucated through the OMP, which uses vacuum to get the oil to the engine.
Low oil pressure will instead hurt the e-shaft bearings, just like the crankshaft bearings in a piston engine.

Oh... It's shock! Oil Pressure Sensor doesn't exist :-(
Thanks for your reply.
Eventually, It is important to figure out VACCUM(uses MOP) number, right?
I saw VACCUM gauge(number) on "Torque Pro APP".
Would you tell me NORMAL VACCUM number(or, RECOMMANDED number)?

The vacuum number via OBD is calculated, it is not actual. There is no vacuum sensor either.
And the OMP just needs some vacuum, it doesn't need much. If the engine is running, it is generating enough vacuum to pull in the oil.
Perhaps you should just read the new owner's thread to get a better grasp on how to keep your engine healthy. There is a whole section at the bottom:
New Owner's Start Here: So if I get one, what can I do to help make my engine last?
