straight piped my rx8
after many sleepless nights wondering if i should, or shouldnt, and infinite analysys of the yes's and no's.
i jacked it up and took off the catback and threw in some straight pipes all the way back. single 2.5" all the way to a 10" resonator and 90degree turndown.
what everyone whats to know: how fuct is it?
answer: not one bit. lost maybe 10-15lbs torque on the low end, but i can feel every bit i gain in the top end and god damn is it nice to pull from 5500-10k
about 112 decibles unkorked and 100 or so with the pipes going back

Sleepless nights of analysis and this is where you landed?

The fact that you are debating the issue with people who have FAR more experience with the RX-8 (and life, in general) than you do is more a representation of yourself than anything else. For you to think that you revealed a huge power-loss and were the first one to do it is quite amusing, really. Here is a challenge; take your RX-8 to the track and hold that same attitude, make sure you capture the experience on video, and we will all see how you fare. LOL

You gonna eat that?

Plus, Red 8s are automatically slower than Lightning Yellows and Brilliant Blacks cause the added weight of the Mica paint coefficient adds more weight and drag, thus rendering any straight pipe gains moo.
