Hello guys, sorry if i'm posting here, but i got a problem with 8 and can't wait to fix it somehow. Here's the story.
I got a 2006 Rx8 exactly 12 months ago, I loved it since the first day, even with a compression of 6 on first rotort and 8 on second. Did a decarb and it improved the results a bit. Got a garage for her, so there would be no rain or cold or other cars hitting her. I was going to take her to a mechanic but before I could do so the CAT died....so she became catless. After I took her to the mechanic I changed plugs and coils, got her gutted, changed oil (it was at 108.000 km or 67.000 miles), after that hit summer and I would sometimes go to some hills having fun, going up and down and doing slaloms. But then it started to get quite hot and the car started to overheat. I took her immediatly to a mechanic and changed her 13 years old radiator, and put a mishimoto one, and it didn't overheat again.
In september i went to the hills again and this time while going uphill the car couldn't get power, would only get to 3k rpm, after I got to the top of the hill i put her in neutro and the car died, dropping completely to 0 rpm. After some time it started to tremble hard on cold engine, like the first 20 min after starting it, or until I rev it. Now it also got cold outside, 0-5 C or 32-41 F. In this time I looked at coolant level to see if it's dropping but it doesn't, there is no coolant smell, and there is no white smoke coming from the exhaust. Today it had a hard cold start and lately it happens a lot, like 4 good and 2 bad in one week.
Here's a link to the cold/hot start:
So long story short, it has those problems: hard cold start -------------- rought idle on cold engine (20 min) --------------- difficulty going uphill (stalls or goes below 1k rpm)
Couple things to check. Know the last time you changed your spark plugs, coils and wires? Also, your CEL is on but could just be the p0420 code due to running catless. Did you scan it recently to see if other codes popped up? A scan tool is always the first thing I do if I have engine issues then I can go from there.

Hi, yeah, sorry forgot to mention the cell, it's a " P2270 02 sensor signal stuck lean, it's like this since becoming catless. Even though it''s the sensor, but for now it's not a big problem I think. It's the only code. Spark plugs and coils 10.000 km ago,as for wires I don't know, the old owner changed them, gotta inspect them.

That's just the rear O2 sensor, won't really affect much performance wise. I dont get this code running catless, likely an issue with the harness.
Doesnt sound like anything really wrong but always good to run a compression test just to be sure. Something may have happened from the last time it was tested.

Hi, I'll do the compression, but is it really a problem with compression ?
It still has stock water pump and fuel pump
Doubtful a compression issue but always good to run one to be sure. Could be a fuel delivery problem as well if its bogging down. You could run the usual diagnostics like fuel pressure testing, block testing and also check fuel trim data under the same conditions you experience the problem. Possible it could be leaning out uphill due to loss of fuel pressure. There is quite a lot to check really. Testing is always your best bet.
