Subframe question please help.

Could I directly bolt on a Miata NB subframe? Or another Miata subframe? Please help and thank you for any assistance.

NB, no. I remember reading RX-8 subframes bolt up to NC Miata to make rotary Miatas, so NC Miata subframe might bolt up to an RX-8.

I was going through the MZR swap thread and it seems they used an MX5? Miata subframe? Not sure about the details or if they did any modifications to make it work.

Except in Mazda's marketing material, Miata is synonymous with MX-5.

The big thing you need to pay attention to when choosing a donor car the generation of MX-5. The NC Miata/MX-5 (3rd generation) is what you want. Model years 2006 - 2015 (calendar years 2005 - 2015).

The subframe should bolt right in but you may have to modify the firewall and cowl to make the engine fit. Also, you might have to get creative with the transmission to get the shifter located correctly.
