Tail lights
Hi I just bought my 2004 rx-8 fully loaded and I would like to put some nicer tail lights on it but I don't want to purchase something until I know for sure the lights will fit my car , model , etc. This is my car
These are the lights I want . They are spyder smoked lights.
If these don't fit my car can you please provide a link with ones that will fit.

as long as they're designed for a Series 1 RX8 (04 - 09) they should fit.
Now, whether or not they'll let a bunch of moisture / water in them like most of those ebay specials is a whole different story.

Play with tail lights later. Right now, you should be focusing on engine health especially on an 04. Rotary Compression Test to make sure you've got a good runner is in order, then start servicing, New plugs, coils, wires if they haven't been done. I'd read the new owners threads, especially the faq's, they are invaluable in getting you lots of pertinent information that's helpful for the car's longevity.

CG is correct - tackle the "elephant on the table" first before sinking a bunch of cash on bling. If the engine is borderline or needs to be rebuilt, that needs to be done first.

Ok
It has only 40000 miles on it and one old owner.
its as new as it could be and never got beaten from a young kid. Seems to run very well but I appreciate the suggestions I will take a look into that because the longevity is paramount. But just about the tail lights , are you sure mine is a series 1 ? Also how do I get to that forum I haven't seen it .

You need 7 more posts. Low mileage makes you need to be even MORE aware of work being done, and skip tails for now. At 30k you should replace the OEM coils and wires, god help you if they haven't already done plugs at least once. The fact that it wasn't beaten is a little worrying. Well, beaten isn't the word I'm looking for. If the car never saw any spirited driving, then it could have caked on carbon issues. Thus, why I suggest you get a rotary compression test done regardless of the fact it's young and sprightly - Knowing where your health is at now is more important than looking kewl, as sonic would say.
Might also look into replacing the coolant overflow bottle as well, despite the age they get worn out and crack at the nipple that connects to the radiator. Basically, go over the "Things you should do now that you've purchased your 8'' thread. Follow the work within reason, do oil changes with OEM filters, check your plugs and wires and compression and get the fluids flushed and changed. Then, once you've got all that sorted you can do all the crazy mods you want. We'll tell you otherwise, but we want to see the car live and thrive, so preventative repair is tanamount.
