Thinking of buying a rx-8

I was looking into buying a rx-8. While researching about this car i came across a thread that said if you own this car the engine will blow for sure and you will have to rebuild it which is expensive. I was wondering if this is true? if so would i pay to have someone rebuild it or do i get an engine swap?

Yup as soon as you sign the papers, they blow up. It's an unreal sight.

There are plenty of these around with high mileage. The reason that some people have issues is because they never learn the unique maintenance required by RX-8s and in turn end up neglecting them. Same with any car, if you don't take care of it, it won't last. If you treat it well and keep it happy, it'll be good to you in kind.
