TPMS Sensor

Hi !
How long does the battery lives on the sensors ? Is there a metod of testing sensor or battery , sensors are not mounted due repaining rims

Gent, tough to say how long they'll last but I know the ones on my 2015 failed 2 or 3 years ago.
there's a thread here discussing aftermarket sensors that are available on Amazon that are compatible with our vehicle.
It's what I run now and have had no issues

For some of them, there is actually a cover which you can remove to reveal the button battery powering the sensor.

As for testing, I don't know if there is a way other than having a programmer and see if they respond to the programmer. I got one that works for GM cars for cheap on Amazon. Really handy to have when I do my own tire rotation and there is a sequence you can do to activate the TPMS programming mode in the car. There is probably one for Mazda (or Ford, given that they worked together when RX-8 was produced), but I haven't looked before since the Canadian RX-8s weren't equipped with TPMS.
