Hey friends,

I've been navigating through this forum for a while now, but haven't registered until now because all my questions have been answered until now.

SO, I am dealing with this 8 that had a blown clutch which I'm pretty sure was the result of a bad throwout bearing. I dropped the transmission to find that that was the case, but found more bad news that I wasn't prepared for.

There has been damage to the cover that houses the input shaft, I'm not exactly sure what its called but have attached images. I have looked on the web and have narrowed it down to "Transmission front cover". Also think this is the part number: 16-2200-Y611 (according to mazdatrix) but have found other ones like Y611-16-220.
I'm not very sure though, can anyone confirm ? provide a link? or simply tell me if they have faced this problem and if I should look out for anything else.

ps. switching out clutch and installing a lighter flywheel.

 

The way a Mazdatrix displays part numbers s different than Maszda. They seem to mix up the numbers. That is the same part #
