transmission question(s)

Hello, I have an 07 RX8 GT with the 6 speed manual. I have to rebuild the trans with new synchros and bearings. Just wondering, what is the transmission code and is there a service/overhaul manual for them and what is a good synchro to use? I was reading about carbon fiber ones or something along the lines of that. Also when I am in 3rd, 5th and 6th the trans is louder than all the other gears. Is that normal?

Thanks,
Zac

If you can find a good used transmission it will be a lot cheaper...the syncros and crap for these trannies are expensive

AFAIK..there are no carbon syncros for this transmission

If you haven't dismantled it yet and are not 100% the tranny is worn out, some new gear oil might make a hell of a difference. It did for me anyways.

++1 on both suggestions above

Also the Tranny being loud, check your tranny leather boot its got holes in a few spots that is ususally the reason behind tranny being loud in certain gears.

Cover them up and it will disappear.

is the series 2 trans a direct bolt and plug and play or are their mods that need to be done?
