Trouble getting midpipe to fit
Hi all, I recently bought a BHR midpipe for my rx8 and I'm having trouble getting the midpipe to seal to my exhaust. When I bolt up the midpipe to the front flange going to the headers everything is fine. When I bolt the other end of the midpipe to the exhaust I can't get the midpipe and exhaust to meet up nicely.
What happens is the top part of the flanges of both the midpipe and exhaust come together. However, the bottom part of the flanges will not join together and they angle away from each other. Instead of bolting up the front of the midpipe first, I decided to try the rear to see if I could fix this; however, after I bolted the rear and went to do the front bolts, raising the front of the midpipe forced the rear to angle the flanges so it no longer sealed well. So here I am hoping someone might have a solution?
The issue is not a big deal, but I can hear an odd hissing sound coming from where those flanges come together and I can see burn marks on the metal at the bottom of the flange suggesting that hot gas is leaking from there. I also am using the stock exhaust.
