Tuning for reliability in 2023
I have read many threads about tuning but it seems that over the years people recommend different platforms from mazdaedit to versatune to cobb. (Which to my knowledge doesn’t exist anymore.) My question is, I have an 04 with almost 120k mi on the original engine and I have been doing reliability mods to keep it alive for as long as possible, still no hot start issues or stalling, idles amazingly somehow. I just wanted to get into tuning the ecu for reliability like the fan speeds for cooling perhaps, or raising the oil pressure/flow. For sure I want to be able to delete the CEL when I delete my cat I want to go midpipe no cat for when I get a SOHN adapter. In this day and age is there anything out there that I can use to get into the tuning scene and maybe get some more life out of my renesis? Like I mentioned I couldn’t find the Cobb being sold new anymore. Any help is appreciated I am currently in college and depending on how this goes I actually am highly considering studying to become a car tuner after I get my feet wet with this.

That sounds good I was thinking mazdaedit anyways because in the future WHEN my renesis goes lol I was thinking of getting a fresh one and attempting a turbo setup which I have seen people successfully do with Mazdaedit. Is there a thread or a video I can go to to learn what to buy and a tutorial or something? I always have a hard time searching here lol google didn’t help much either.

There are some yt videos on epifan's youtube channel. But in all honesty, tuning with ME is best left to those that are keen on taking on a steep learning curve with scarce information. I will share a very basic tutorial soon enough based on my experience and of another tuner.
