I'm new to this forum, but a 25 year veteran of the rotary life. Last week I purchased a turbocharged 2004 6port m/t that had been ran hot and left to rot in the owner's driveway. It's basically complete minus a battery, and I had planned to rebuild it as it is and cage it for the track. But instead I've decided to do what seems to be in these forums a manner of blasphemy, and turbo my 2005 4 port A/T. And once I've removed all of the goodies from the donor car, I'm going to sell the rest for what it would bring at the scrap yard.
Not sure about the kit. The car has MazdaSpeed badges on it, and I don't think they ever did a turbo kit for the 8. Unfortunately, yesterday when I began removing all of the components, I happened to notice a rather large oil slick under my car. Damn oil sending unit or pressure switch just out of the blue decided to disentigrate for no good reason. I'm a 6'3" 300 pound fat *** with meat hooks for hands and I'm about to have to remove the intake of my car to get to it.
. But here's picks of the what I've got off the donor car so far. External w/g Very nice ball bearing turbo with no shaft play Blow off Intercooler This 50 cent cold air intake makes me think it wasn't a kit Upgrades hydraulic hoses with twin oil coolers And the cold air intake leads me to believe this wasn't an actual kit, lol. And this is my daily that all of this hopefully with end up on.
I just realized that I somehow put the wrong description. It was supposed to say "Zoom in close on the label, because it almost looks like Mazda has authorized a cold air intake made from 4 inch corrugated plastic drain pipe."
