Using Wireless Chargers in an S2 Caused the Theft Protection System to Trigger
Hello, I picked up a 2011 GT a few weeks ago and have been slowly adding creature comforts from 2022 to make my new daily a bit more modern. With Android 12, you can use Assistant Driving Mode to get a sort of Android Auto Lite on your phone so I wouldn't have to shell out $500+ on a new head unit just yet. I thought I would pair my phone with a wireless charger so when I get in the car it connects to my bluetooth adapter and is charging without a bundle of wires everywhere.
Today was the first time I got to try using a ZooHoo 15w wireless charger and it was a nice feeling to chuck my phone in the holder attached to the vents above the stereo with almost no wires. Unfortunately, when it's charging it interferes with the theft protection system causing the car with a key light to flash. It eventually turned off but I noticed my phone was a full charge then so I unplugged the usb cable from the charger and the problem went away. It looks like it's back to a 'dumb' holder and plugging in for me. I don't feel like playing roulette with finding a wireless charger that will play nice.
