V8 roadsters kit
I bought the rack pinion lowering and bump steer kit from v8 roadsters. After mounting the rack lowering brackets I removed the old tie rod ends. I started to install the first taper joint that replaces the old tie rod. When I tried to install the new part the top nut would not pull up and fully seat the taper. It stripped the nut and messed up the threads on the taper part. I got some heavier nuts with more thread depth and installed the second one. It worked great. Back to the first one recut the threads and tried the longer nut. It spun and would not seat in place. Many delayed emails to Troy and Stephen later. They said I had to BUY another part… buyer beware the nuts are inferior and too light.
You can see where the taper did not pull up and seat due to nut failure
The thin nut supplied would not seat the taper. And it stripped the threads on the nut and gouged the taper threads
Right side thin nut supplied stripped
This is the driver side I used the new deeper thread nut to seat taper and put their inferior nut on top as a lock.
