Weird noise when braking

I'm getting a rather odd noise when braking. it's been happening the past week or so. I jacked it up to take a look and see what it was and couldn't find anything that caught my eye. checked the rotors, they looked fine. pads are almost brand new. it almost sounds like something's up with the suspension, but it only happens while braking. I can be coasting and I'm fine but as soon as I touch the brakes, the noise comes back.

I've included a couple clips of the sound. I'm a producer/sound engineer by trade so I tried to isolate the noise as best as I could (the first clip came out much better than the second clip) was hoping you guys could give me some tips as to what to check out to find the problem.

Oddly enough, the noise seemed to go away while I was recording while driving around to get this clip, which is weird because it hasn't gone away for the past week. It happens when it's cold and when it's hot. And it's hard to hear in the clip, but there's also a high pitched squealing noise that almost sounds like the pads need to be replaced (but they don't). That squeaking noise only happens when it's cold outside. any tips would be greatly appreciated

The brakes are performing fine. They feel the same as they always have. The noise is just ridiculously fu**ing annoying lol

Were rotors replaced or machined with new pads?
Check to see if the pistons in the calipers are moving in & out freely.

I'm not sure, I didn't get much maintenance report when I got it, all I know was the plugs leads and coils were just replaced and i got it compression tested and it came out good. And it rides GREAT except for this damn noise. The previous owner was an adult, late 20s early 30s. don't think he did anything TOO crazy with it.

if the caliper pistons were moving in and out freely, you'd be able to notice that wouldn't you? I feel like there'd be some sort of decrease in braking performance. I'll check anyway. I'm gonna put it up on the jack tomorrow, I just wanna get as much stuff to check out as possible.

Now that you bring up machining rotors though, I wonder if they were spun wrong. I didn't really check for that. Just gave them a quick glance and they looked fine. There wasn't any obvious signs of them being uneven. But all that aside, I'm gonna check out the rotors in detail tomorrow. Should've done that today >_<

A buddy of mine suggested that it might be a "dust shield" scraping against the rotor(???) does that sounds like anything I should even bother looking at? lol

You might not notice if they are not retracting.
The pistons could be pressed out when braking, & not fully retract, rubbing on the rotor or a lip on the edge of the rotor, making noise but not actually fully contacting the rotor.
A possibility.

I would think that would be a constant noise, but could happen.
