Weird Shut-Off

So today (12/7/2023) I came home like normal and parked in the driveway as I always do. For some context, I have a 2004 rx8 manual, and my radio does not work, so I listen to music with a Bluetooth radio that connects to the radio and plays music from my phone to the speakers. Anyways, I had my music at about 25, and I had my headlights on. I was switching from high and low just, I don't remember why, but I was parked so it didn't matter anyway.

The weird thing is that while I was doing that, the car decided to just shut off. Just entirely. I turned the car back on and it was fine. I'm not entirely sure what this was or why it happened, but I sure do not want it to happen again, especially not while I'm driving.

Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be or what could've caused it? Thanks

This happened to me for a day or two one time, right after I changed the battery. Did you do that recently? For some reasons there is some adjustment period after changing the battery and it was fine after 2 days.

This used to happen to me. What was happening for me was I broke the battery holder probably a year before this doing a radiator upgrade and the small vibrations at idle caused the battery to vibrate and the negative lead on my battery cable would wiggle (started having fretting from wiggle which made it more loose) enough to have a bad connection causing my car to just shut off. I replaced the crimp and had no further issues. Maybe check quality of your crimps on battery cables, mine where just due to old age. Could be a cheep fix for you if it persists.

I did. It hasn't done it since so it was probably that. I also removed it about two weeks ago for a new cooling fan but that didn't happen. Seems like it must have been just a poor connection on the terminal. Thank you!

It seems like it was just a poor connection on the terminal. Haven't had the issue since. Thanks!

It seems to have been a poor connection on the terminal. I might replace the alt if it does happen again tho. Thanks anyways!
