There are still a couple of Spirit R's available new here. If only my house had sold!! I was seriously tempted, now I'm thinking, how much will their price drop in a couple of years!!!

That has been a rumor since the RX8 came out. People are looking for a 2 seat sports car to replace the RX7. The present rumor says 2017, the 50th anniversary of Mazda rotary engined cars. Don't believe it until you hear something from Mazda. They don't let their product information become public until they are ready. And, there aren't too many leaks. If there is something known, you will probably hear it here (from a trusted source) before the motor press.

Hi all, I am a new member to RX8 and this forum,
is there a restriction for new member to start a thread?
I have something to share but I simply can't post, if there a validating procedure
or waiting period? thanks.

Hi, thanks for maintaining this forum. I just bought my 8 this past Saturday. I've been dreaming of owning this car since 2002 when my friend who worked at a Mazda dealer in Northern Virginia told me about this "great new car that Mazda was designing with a rotary engine again". When I was in high school, I remembered sitting in a bright yellow FD RX-7 at a Mazda dealer in Pittsburgh. That was the second car I ever fell in love with... you'll never guess the first haha. Anyhow, my parents were looking at a Mazda Millenia and of course, I was drawn to the RX-7. Sure, I looked at the Miata next to it, but I couldn't take my eyes off the RX-7. I had always loved the idea of a rotary engine. Hell, I even sent away Transformer box tops so that I could get the silver FC RX-7 autobot named Camshaft... one of the three special "reinforcement" autobots you could send away for.
But I digress. I wanted a 2004 RX-8 in the worst way. I drove past the local dealer every day that summer until they got one, but in the end, I couldn't afford it on my salary and plan to get engaged and married. I bought a Mazda Protege5 instead for half the money. Flash forward 10 years, marriage, two kids, and 100,000 miles later, and I finally found myself in a position to buy an 8.
I've been very careful not to post any stupid questions, and I've been reading and learning as much as I could over the past month. Since I just registered on this forum a couple days ago (instead of just browsing anonymously), I figured I'd finally post a hello, which is mostly just a thank you for having this site. It is essential evening reading for any newb to rotaries or RX-8's in general!
Oh and what phat mods should I get s0 that I can out-drag a track-edition GTR? I have a fart-can that adds at least 100 whp. Haha, just kidding.
Thanks again for all the information!

I will... as soon as it stops raining out here and I can clean it back up! I've been itching to photograph it since I bought it, but save for one day, it's been bad weather. That one nice day I used up to detail the snot out of my Protege5 to sell it, which (fingers crossed) will happen tonight or tomorrow!

You can purchase in the classifieds section, and once you have 10 official posts AND more than 30 days here, you can post stuff for sale as well.

Hi Everyone
Hi Guys,
I am from Myanmar (Burma, if you will). I am new to this forum and new to rotary engines. My country just changed the policy for importing cars just last year. For the past two decades, we only ride cars that are about 20 years old. The latest we had probably would be 99 models of Toyota Mark II.
Well I think that's enough of background info, let me get back to the new car policy. With it, a lot of newer cars (2002-2010) are imported. Some of them, yes, RX8. I really like the look of it and the colors they come in. I started poking around and a lot of people say they drink lots of fuel and engines are not reliable because they are not piston engines.
I really wanted one and thought well if it is like this Mazda wont be selling these. Then I looked through websites and forums and finally found this one. I've read the stickies and the notes for new and potential owners. Really appreciate all the posts and efforts you guys put into this forum. All the posts gave me energy and understanding towards how to take care of these babies and I think I am confident enough to get one of them. ( I used to think, well if this broke down, it's gone!!)
I am planning to get a used Mazda RX-8 probably 2007 or 2008, which will be imported from Japan. We do not have any dealers nor spare parts here. I hope that I can get my RX-8 very very soon.
Wish me luck guys. And Cheers to all the contributors in this forum !
with love, kyoot

Welcome kyoot.
If you have decent mechanical abilities, and pay close attention to maintenance, you should be fine. Any questions you have for an rx8, you will find the answers here.
Good luck!

The problem isn't that it doesn't come across well In print, The problem is it does not belong at all and a smiley is just a cop out. I think it is mentioned in the ever ignored rules right. My best advice for a noob is watch what you post here.

Attached is a pic of my old car all shined up (sold in four days! ) as well as my new one (which I bought from Jake33).
The white wheels have sort of grown on me, even though I'm way too old for them... it rather screams midlife crisis, which is what everyone in my neighborhood thinks anyway

Howdy all,
I have been creeping the forums since September '12 when I bought my car (2007 RX8....duh lol)

So what exactly does "certain" mean here? Seems a bit of a silly rule to me. I wanted to kick off a new thread on a KA300 hack that perhaps could become a DIY for anyone interested since I couldn't find any posts on the subject.
