KS What next? This is crazy...

About two months ago I purchased a nice 2005 RX8. 89000 miles nice 20s everything about it was cool is legit the car ran awesome until as of recently three weeks ago. Driving and all of a sudden the car sounds like a shuts off but it clicks down from $6,000 p.m. to about 4,000 I'll still going the same speed and shift it down gears or up gears I should say. Now it started bogging down and would die when I would try to take off in first you would have to put in neutral rev it up as high as possible and then throwing the drive to start inching forward. Alright so I go what's the speed I got a new secondary shutter valve purge valve solenoid the three vacuums that are in the back behind the manifold I'll figure out a new mass air flow sensor spark plugs coil spark plug wires new battery all of us I got brand new and still same problem persist. Not as bad but coming out of first gear it still wants to lags and still wants to die but it can go what could possibly be the problem if anyone else has encountered this. Let me know before I start spending thousands of dollars for a car to sit in my driveway....and the car is automatic....

First welcome to the addiction.

Second your verbage is a little bit confusing and hard to read, but hear goes.

When you got the car did you get a rotary specific compression check?
Is it and automatic or standard?
Also read the new owners thread then read it again as the information there is very valuable.

It sounds like the clutch is worn out or the clutch pedal is poorly adjusted, if this is a manual. If you're going the same speed, but rpms change, it's the clutch.

It's very hard to understand your description of the problem, can you write clearly so that we can help you?

Let me try this again. The car is automatic. When attempting to leave in first gear the car will almost Idol itself dead or sounds like its flooding. This comes after I replaced secondary shutter valve the purge valve two three vacuums on the back of the manifold coils spark plugs spark plug wires and a new battery. What else could be the problem?

It could be many things, ranging from as serious as a low compression engine, to a simple vacuum leak.

One simple cause could be a vacuum leak. Are there any cracks or open connections in the intake after the MAF sensor? Even a tiny one can throw off the airflow metering at idle. Especially since you've had the intake apart, I'd make sure everything is sealed up nice.

To definitely confirm this, you can also hook up an OBD reader and see what fuel trims (STFT And LTFT) you are seeing at idle. That's the "right" way to diagnose it.
