I'm about 3 months out from nailing down what sort of car I will have for the next 4-5 years, and due to it's low entry price and sports car aesthetic, the 2004 RX-8 is on that list.
I plan on exploring the threads on here until judgement day comes, so you might see me asking a random question here or there.
If anyone is pining to know the other cars I am considering, they are:
the 2002-2004 Subaru WRX Hatchback
the 1999-2004 Ford Mustang convertible
the 1989-1997 Mazda MX-5
the 1998-2001 Mercedes SLK-230
or faithfully keeping and restoring my 1993 Honda Del Sol

Hello and welcome. First and foremost, read the new owners thread. It might be a bit overwhelming but it is very helpful. The rx8 is a car that is expensive to get more power from and requires a ton of maintenance. It is best suited for an enthusiast who does not mind spending tons of money on his/her pride and joy.
Subaru is a good car, look for the ones with a replaced head gasket to be safe.
I wouldn't be caught dead in a convertible mustang. The listed year gets a lot of verbal abuse. Can't comment on the rest, not enough experience with them.
I would, naturally, recommend the Rx8. My guess is it is the most fun out of the bunch (probably best safety rating too!). Good luck in your endeavor. We are always happy to see another member!
