Wondering what to do . . .

Just bought an RX8 and its in really nice shape. The previous owner I think just simply gave up on the car but I think I am a good reader of people and , before bying the car, researched and knew that there was a possibility that the engine needed replacing. In any event the car starts (a bit hard) and runs great. No compression loss and no smoke. But once it warms up it will not idle and I have to fether the gas. No loss of power at all. No leaks oil is clean and no loss of any fluids. When it stalls it will not start (im sure if I jumped it it would i suppose) but after it cools down it'll start right up. This happens every time. Im not farmiliar with these engines but willing to learn. The car really runs great no noise or sounds that I am farmiliar with that would make me believe that the motor is done. So before I bye another motor I would be interested in what anyone would suggest . . . It seems to me that there is a fule issue because there is a foul oder but I know there is a new cat on it. Well if anyone could make some suggestions it would be appreciated. Thanks

Geesh, wall of text.
how do you know there is no compression loss, did you have it compression tested before you bought it?
And stalling could be anything from a leaking vacuum hose to a blown engine.
Learn how to search, it will benefit you in the long run.

I got such a good deal on the car I only did the test when I got it home . . . No compression loss. Again engine is unfarmiliar to me. I will check the vec hoses I just thought because it runs so smooth and from the first 15-20 minutes it idels fine. Appreciate your advice.

How did you do the compression test? Because a regular compression tester doesn't work on a rotary. You need a rotary one. Local dealer should have one.
You should read the New Buyers page, lots of good info. The stalling when warmed up is a classic sign of loss of compression, but if your car is within the 8-year, 100,000 mile warranty you can get the engine replaced. Every RX8 has this warranty.
