new engine

Hello, I really need peoples help on this!

Bought a new engine from someone on ebay had it sent and found it it has 1 less port than my current broken one, did he send me a jdm? In his post he clearly does not state that the engine is jdm at all, all he said was it fits in 04-06 manual.

This is the one he sent me

Yes, it looks like he sent you a 4-port engine, not a 6-port.

There is no "JDM" difference. All engines worldwide were one of 3 variants. For 2004-2008, there was a 4-port and a 6-port variant, and every market in the world got both. For 2009+, there was just a different 6-port.

So that engine isn't "JDM", it's just a 4-port, which can exist in the US too. He labeled it wrong. Return it if you can.

I had my mechanic check it out, and said it was for manual too but the port was different but in The US here we never got a 5 speed 4 port rx8? is that correct? if so that is a major flaw I can use to get my engine refunded back thank you!

Correct, the US did not get a 5-speed, 4-port or 6-port, but that is the transmission. The US still did get 4-ports, it was just attached to the 2004-2005 4-speed automatics. The transmission is an indicator of the engine only from available configurations. All RX-8 engines can mate up to all RX-8 transmissions without issue.
