1JZ/2JZ mount kit
Hey guys! After some heavy thought I decided to swap in a 1JZ or 2JZ into my RX8 (I know I'm going to H*ll for it and etc) but the renesis engine seems to have let me down.
Does anyone know if there is a engine rx8 mount kit for the 1JZ/2JZ? I could only find one for the FD RX7 and I assume I cannot use that kit. I will be getting the engine in a rear sump configuration.

The only "kit" that exists is for the RX-8 for swapping in another engine is for an LS engine, and it was finally finished last week (11 years after the RX-8 came out and people started looking for more power)
All engine swaps suffer from the same problem in that the Renesis is mounted where no other engine can be easily mounted, not even the RX-7's engine. So you basically have to rebuild the front of the car (suspension, cooling, steering, subframe, firewall, etc...) around the new engine, and you have to do it all as a one off custom job. Then there is the electrical and electronic problem that isn't easily solved because every electrical function in the car is dependant on the ECU in one fashion or another.
There is a very real reason why so few swaps are ever finished. You might want to really research before starting it. It will inevitably be cheaper to just go get a different car that is closer to what you want in the first place.

There is pretty much nothing you can say that will convince us that this is going to happen
The history of the forum is littered with people showing up talking about an engine swap that never materializes, and the few that actually proceed drag on for literally years without much actual progress. Very few swaps ever get to the running point, much less running well.
So basically you are going to have to put up pics, video, etc... for any of us to really believe you. No offense intended, it's just the way we react to all threads about a swap.

Well said!!! Note that I wanted to inquire about the mount kit since I saw one readily available for the FD. I still think this swap is possible especially since I've come across threads with dudes in Pakistan swapping out the Renny for 1/2JZs. This is what sparked my interest in this.

How? isn't that motor only 200-220 HP and this is 320? Also if anything to make life easier wouldn't it be better to go 1jz for a bit then upgrade when the funding is there?correct me if I'm wrong but the 1j and 2j have the same bottom block

He isn't serious, it's a running forum joke.

no a 1jz is a 2.5 a 2jz is 3.0 the vvti has the better head design though thats what I have in my sc300.

Hi Joker,
Ur experienced will be a good testiment of educating others on RX8 1JZ breed. Thumbs up.
I've my RX8 with 1JZ-GTE VVTi in the hood, an auto transmission for more than a year. It did cost a lot as I wanted the latest engine version being VVTi single turbo. Yes, definitely there will be minor probelms here and there, but not to the extreme of fixing up. Handling wise, no issue, but definitely the front suspension gets a beating because of the 1JZ overweight compare to the small rotary engine weight. There's more RX8 owner out there going this part; its just a matter of seeking "education" and learn not to make tje same mistake. So, have fun and keep safe.
