actually a 2j is a little heavier than a ls motor because of its cast iron block. But I still like the 2j better, plus its still japanese at least

And its much cheaper than ls2 or higher motor. And can make just as much power for less money if you know what your doing.

Yea, almost done with the car. We are entering it into a DUB show this month in Miami. I don't think Brian could have ever done that swap, its a lot harder than it looks and I have spent lots of money to get this thing right. I am gonna post pictures and video here shortly.

looks good but to me kinda defeats the purpose of having an RX-8 without a rotary...i mean...that's what its all about. should've just bought a supra and saved some money. just my 2 cents.

ofcourse it will throw off the balance of the car, but im sure he's not in it for that anymore...making 500-600 whp (guestimate) is all some people need to forget about it..maybe he likes drag racing or straight line racing? haha

i think he is shooting for some crazy hp numbers, there is alot of money in that motor. i am pretty sure he is going for atleast 1000 hp

i also think he is build this as a show car aswell, i think he owns a audio shop or rim shop, this is what i was told by brian proctor though so these could have been all lies

I kinda agree...I think it defeats why you bought a rotary in the first place, but then again poeple put LS1's in 3rd gen rx7's? go figure

To each there own I guess.

Swapping a different engine in the RX8 does not defeat any purpose at all. STOP PUTTING DOWN PEOPLES SWAPS.STOP HATTING. Anything is better then RX8 engine SPECIALLY THE 93 AND UP 13B-REW(best swap for the BALANCE freaks and rotary heads). AND STOP GIVING THE SAME "BALANCE" AND "HANDLING" EXCUSE ALL THE TIME. Wake up Rotor Heads this is real world and I am tired of looking for a down hill curvy roads so i can beat a Scion tc or a Civic SI(with few mods), they are as fast as a 8. In the real world there is no replacement for displacement and for the rotary engine been for so long in the Mazda RX cars is a shame that Mazda couldn't do something with more power (stop blaming the emmisions) .People on the forum talk about racing a Mustang GT, when the stock 8 can barely hag to a V6 mustang
