B6ZE(RS) swap?

Hello guys,I`m Alex from Bulgaria. I just bought rx8 with broken engine, and because of finance reasons I want to make swap with mx5 miata 1.6 engine.I want to know if there is someone who did such a swap(doubt about it ? My idea is to swap it,and turbo it after 2 months. Also I want to know,is there gonna be some problems with the rx8 systems(airbags,esp,e.t.c) In my country the car is not something you can see often on the streets, and that`s why I want to consult with you. Also the reason for choosing the B6ZE(RS) engine is the big taxes we have to pay for cars over 150hp. Also, how many hp can I get on stock internals from B6ZE(RS) ?
Thank you for the attention

Your post is a bit confusing not sure what your asking but I would recommend you rebuild the renesis.

engine swaps are usually between 20 - 30k

It's been done here, the results weren't nice.
Despite putting down roughly 210rwhp after the turbo conversion the car is slower than a stock 231hp rx8.

Just get your engine rebuilt and enjoy it.

Can you give some link for the project.
I don`t want to rebuild the engine because of the taxes....
What I want to do is put the miata`s engine, and fully rebuild it when I have opportunity. My main question is: can I use the rx8 extras(esp, airbags, etc) with the B6ZE(RS)`s computer(because obviously it`s older),or I should keep the original one?

There's no link for such build, it was so underperforming that it wasn't worth wasting the time to write about it.

You can't use the b6's engine computer in the rx8. You will need to keep the rx8's pcm + a standalone for the b6. Oh, a decent rebuild is going to cost you around 3000$ if you do it right. A proper turbo build may end up costing more than 6000$, turbo kit excluded.

Thank you very much, that`s the answer I was looking for!
We`re gonna have to figure out how to do it. I`m wondering if it`s possible just to remap the rx8`s ecu and adapt it to the B6ZE(RS) ?

Sure, if you are willing to hack the ecu and reprogram it for your application. If you manage that let the rest of us know. It's quite a bit more difficult then just flashing tables to remap with an accessport.

So, no. It's not possible.

It`s not me who`s going to do this job,I do know only mechanical work, not ecu`s and mapping, just wanted to know what should I prepare before I go to the garage of these guys

Mitsubishi? Really? I got tired of dealing with their unreliability, so I bought a rotary and life has been much easier.

How hard is it to find an Isuzu V6 in Bulgaria? I heard that is the best RX8 swap going.

Is the savings in taxes really enough to justify such a costly build? Are you sure they still wont tax you on the original listed hp from the manufacturer regardless of what engine you put in? Are you sure it wouldn't just be cheaper in the long run to just buy a Miata?

Ahahahaha, unreliability,I hope you`re seriously kidding,hahahahah :D And compare to an rotary engine,hahahahah :D You`re funny!
One of mine friend`s had 12 sec N/A mitsu colt(not registrated)only for track, and he had no problems at all!!! With only 2k more the car was going to be in the low 10s,by turboing it,because it was fully build! JE pistons,Manley rods,Manley crankshaft ,etc,etc..... Unfortunately the car was not able to be driven on the streets because of our laws and high taxes! My last car was a coupe, but I do prefer 4dr car, that`s why I bought the mazda. I wanted to put other mazda engine, but by calculating everything, the top end with 1.6 will be arround 300+- hp,1.8 not more than 400!!! What I`m gonna need for the heavy mazda is not less than 500hp+! Something I can get absolutely easy with the almighty 4g63.All I needed to know is how can I handle with all the systems of the rx8!All I want is to be properly working street car!
And stop talking shhhht, because here in Bulgaria 1 gallon normal unleaded cost 7.58$,I`m not gonna tell you about the taxes because everyone of you is goin` to PUKE!
Those are all the rx8`s on the Bulgarian market now, most of them cost`s like 6000 euro which is 7968.60 usd,so do compare it to your own market! I bought mine for 4500 euro with engine broken, which means 5976.45 usd.......

You turkish people are mad about rx8`s I know it !
I prefer to put like 6k in the 4g63 and just forget about it for at least 2-3 years(city driving on Low boost).
There is no good and reliable rotary build for normal amount of money.I`m talking for at least 450-500hp. Rx8 is one AMAZING and VERY BEAUTIFUL car, that`s why I bought it,what a DESIGN! I love it,but the engine it`s just not on my taste,on the other hand the 4g63 is the best buy for the money on my opinion! I`m still considering of puting it only on rwd,but here in Bulgaria we don`t have a proper glued drag strip(as u can see on the posted video),so AWD is recommended. Will see,the time will show!

Obvious Troll... I see so many STI's needing rebuilds under 100k miles and Subaru is by far more reliable than Mitshush*ti. Just sell the 8, you're going to be thousands in debt and your project will have gone no where like 90% of the "swaps."
My first 8's engine outlived my friends STI and they're only boosted to around 14.5lbs stock I believe.

You can't just stick a motor and a tranny in a car and think that's it, there's a ton of work that's involved, due yourself a favor and sell the 8 (if you actually own one), you're not financially ready to own a sports car.
