Who said this was an argument for just piston swaps? If you want to go fast then the Renesis has to come out one way or another.
As far as going fast, 125 mph is the fastest I've gone in ny mostly stock '04 before l let up, plenty fast for me, but I take my enjoyment in my daily driving, not the track. |
Lol yeah bc so many people swap rotaries into piston car. Ohhhh wait...... Yep I would say my car is improved quite a lot. It may not be as "nimble" as the roturd purists would like but it's like reeling in dead fish when it straightens out. And my motor is just a lil ol stock LS1.

Someday we might have an active admin that can do that... :dunno:
It's on my radar if I ever make that step. I like how they closed the section introduction thread and ignored it because everyone knew the section title sucked balls. |

It's not that hard to understand. |
Well that's you. I enjoy swapping superior motors into deserving cars. It's like giving a car a better life. Everytime I pass a RX8 now I chuckle. That chuckle turns into a laugh when that shriek beside me goes distant. Didn't even have to downshift.

Happens a lot, does it? Now I really don't believe you. |
It shows he still cares BC. I don't even notice LS cars I pass, because I literally don't care.
|
That would take away all the fun....and would still need a thread like this to keep the garbage out of each forum...more Mod problems ;)
|
I'd structure it as: (with whatever names, this is just arbitrary)
Swap Forum - Different rotary in 8 - Renesis in something else - LS in 8 - 2JZ in 8 - Izuzu V6 in 8 (he can be by himself) - other piston in 8 The root forum could have threads I think, allowing 1 thread like this without a problem or needing to duplicate. It can happen at some nesting level, just unsure where that level sits in the admin functions. |
I have one each of the top 2 :)
|
Too many sub forums. You only need two. And allow threads in the main sub section for people looking for info on drivetrain swap stuff and other general tech info and this stupid thread. And Renesis into another car, who cares, this is an RX-8 forum.
Engine and Drivetrain Conversion Forum -Rotary Engine Conversion -Piston Engine Conversion That's it. No stupid names either. |
If it ever happens, you are free to object.
My list wasn't actually 'accurate' anyway though, I wouldn't make a forum for izuzu guy's own swap. :) |

Not really. Dumping a lot of weight will get you faster too.
How about replacing the interior, frame, and body with something weighing half as much? Effectively doubles your power without touching the motor. And yes, it's doable :) Like when SCC stripped a stock riced out sentra SE to the bare chassis and ran low 14's, I remember reading the article years ago. How to get your Econobox into the 14's |
Don't forget the section for the Renny driving shit talkers.

Mod note: I removed some tags that were against forum rules. Don't re-add them.
LS, we have the rest of the forum for that :) |

I wouldn't swap a rotary into a car designed for a piston engine anymore than I would a piston engine into an 8. It's not that hard to understand.

Man math must not be your strong side. A 20b weighs alot.more than an LS1. A 20b with a huge Borg Warner turbo and all piping, intercoolers, oil temp control parts, etc rivals the weight of a SBC. Also being so far forward, your crowned weight distribution is like a fox body mustang. On a serious note, how much power can u say they realistically make? I cant imagine much more than if i were to spray my car with a 125 wet shot (which is very safe on my fuel system and on a stock motor). Plus all i have extra is a bottle and and some solenoids. Ive gained maybe 50 lbs whereas your 20b was heavier out of the gate before all the turbo stuff. So same hp, lighter car......well you know the rest. |
